If you’re looking for the cutest cafes in Bath, you’ve come to the right place. This is a list of all the most aesthetic places, the best places to work when you need a break from working from home, and a couple of bonus places for the coffee aficionados to enjoy their favourite drink.
The most aesthetic cafes in Bath
Sweet Little Things
This cafe certainly earns the title of most aesthetic cafe and covers all bases from a delicious sweet treat, beautiful setting for a birthday party, hen party or just a gathering. Its location also means it’s perfect for stopping by for a quick takeaway coffee.
While there used to be two Sweet Little Things, there is now only one on New Bond Street, plus the bakery which isn’t open to the public on Old Bond Street. Each time you go, you’ll probably find something else behind the counter, from choux buns to macaroons and other treats that’ll look glorious on your Instagram Stories.
Insider tip
If you want a tip, Sweet Little Things is on Too Good To Go so if you’re looking to get your hands on more of these goodies for less, this is your chance.
Mokoko Newark Works
A new cafe opened up in this working district of Bath. The bakery is fully open plan so you can see all the sweet treats being made. Here you’ll find all the goodness you know from the Mokoko by the Abbey, just with more seating areas and fewer tourists! The cups they serve in are really aesthetic and this is a cute place if you prefer a quieter place to enjoy your coffee.
Cafe Lucca
Located on Bartlett Street in Bath’s Antique Quarter, this cute cafe is something of a hidden gem. You can visit for breakfast or lunch and know you’re going to have a delicious selection and be well fed.
What makes this cafe special is that it shares the space with Blue, a women’s clothing and homeware store, which has so many lovely items to peruse.
Work from Cafe
Mokoko
You can’t mention working from a cafe without mentioning Mokoko again. This is the perfect spot for working as it’s set within a business-y area of Bath with the Newark Works co-working space just next door (which is lovely by the way). You can enjoy your coffee and pastry then burrow away in one of the rooms, hoping not to be disturbed by tourists or other locals who have discovered this gem.
Society Cafe
Strong WiFi and plenty of seating
The opposite of a hidden gem but still a surprisingly good place to work from a cafe in Bath is Society. With two branches in Bath – Kingsmead Square and the Corridor – and more in Bristol, Cheltenham and Oxford, but today it’s the Kingsmead Square branch we’re touching on.
Laptop-friendly tables
You’ll find seating all over this cafe, from a stool at the window overlooking the street to one of its laptop-friendly tables. The most important part here is the WiFi is strong, and the fact that they group laptop users on specific tables means you could just make a fellow working from cafe friend!
Cafe W
Cafe W is upstairs in Waterstones and is the perfect place to read a book but it’s also a cosy spot to take your laptop and do some work. It can get busy but most of the time it’s reasonably quiet so you can hunker down and get stuff done!
Cassia
Laptop friendly
Writing this blog without mentioning Cassia would be illegal. This is the ultimate cafe to work from, they’re super laptop friendly, you’ll almost always find other people working on their laptops here, plus the drinks and food are really good too.
Riverside location
While they used to have a whole co-working space within the cafe, this has been integrated now but they’re still friendly to the remote workers as children under 12 aren’t allowed during weekdays. It’s also set on the beautiful Bath Riverside development which is nice by the water. It is further away from town but if you live on this end of the city it’s perfect for you.
Boston Tea Party
You have a couple of different options here but the Alfred Street is the best one for working. Careful because it does get very noisy and busy in here on the weekends, but if you’re going on weekdays you should be fine. One of the standout points of Boston Tea Party is the size of their drinks, the large drinks are HUGE and oh my gosh so delicious. The tropical-style interiors are so conducive to a creative mindset so it’s a great place to brainstorm, meet people and write.
Cafes in Bath for those that like a good coffee
Colonna & Small’s
A mainstay for Bath locals in the know, Colonna & Small’s has a retail space with extensive coffee equipment. This is THE place to go if you’re a coffee buff, but I think if you were a true connoisseur you’d know about this place already! If you’re serious about your coffee, this is the place to experience top-notch brews and perhaps even learn a thing or two from the knowledgeable staff.
The Colombian Coffee Company
Another excellent choice for coffee lovers, providing an authentic coffee experience. Specialises in Colombian coffee, known for its rich and distinctive flavour.
The shop offers a variety of beans for purchase, allowing you to enjoy their premium coffee at home. With a strong focus on sustainable and ethical sourcing, it’s a great spot for those who care about the origin and quality of their coffee.
Matcha Thing
Why did it take Bath so long to get a matcha shop? Well, don’t worry, we’ve got one now! Conveniently located in The Corridor, this place serves all sorts of matcha – it’s perfect for the matcha girlies who want to grab an aesthetic drink while running errands in town or after a yoga class. The rose and strawberry matcha is my personal favourite!
By visiting these cafes in Bath, you’re sure to enjoy not only great coffee and food but also beautiful and inspiring environments perfect for work, relaxation, and socialising.
